Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future (1988)
We zitten in de 22ste eeuw en het is allesbehalve gezellig op aarde. Na een grote oorlog hebben robots de wereld overgenomen en leeft de bevolking in onderdrukking. De hoop is gevestigd op Captain Jonathan Power en zijn team van high-tech strijders die opstaan tegen de machine-heersers. Gewapend met geavanceerde harnassen, die hen superkrachten geven, trekken ze ten strijde tegen de troepen van Lord Dread, de kwaadaardige leider van het robotleger.
Captain Power is natuurlijk de held van het stel: dapper, slim en altijd klaar om zijn mensen te beschermen. Zijn team bestaat uit kleurrijke figuren als Tank de sterke krachtpatser, Hawk de luchtvaarder met zijn vliegende pak, Scout de snelle, slimme infiltratiespecialist en Pilot de coole tactische expert. Samen voeren ze guerrilla-achtige missies uit: ze saboteren bases, bevrijden gevangenen, verzamelen geheime informatie en proberen de mensheid weer een toekomst te geven. Makkelijk is het niet: de vijand is sterk, slim en genadeloos. De robots willen geen vrede, alleen absolute controle.
En Lord Dread, ooit een mens, is nu meer machine en ziet zichzelf als de nieuwe “perfecte” toekomst.
